Sessions and Events

We spoke about AVA Festival, we posted about AVA and we went to AVA Belfast... it was a storm!

If there's anything the Irish are good at, it's being friendly and knowing how to party. The most welcoming, down to earth and humble people that both curated the event as well as attended it.

With an opening event in the evening there was an opportunity for beginners (and punters) to the industry to attend a workshop which covered funding in music - a great way to welcome anyone to the show and make them feel educated and valued.

Following this was a talk. with Palestinian DJ Sama Abdhualdhi - and what a delight she was to both talk to and listen to. Her story is formidable. Do your own research if you're interested. We'll perhaps elaborate on this ourselves one day soon...

Titanic Slipways is an iconic place hence the event becoming a success year upon year since it first set out back in 2015.

With Boiler Room, BBC partnering the event we did a good job of making our stance here at Stripped FM, handing stickers out everywhere we went! (If you want any yourself, drop us a message and we can get some mailed out for you too.)

The modest beauty, sister of one half of Bicep and AVA's founder and curator, Sarah McBriar is currently training for a marathon to fundraise for the MS Society. Her efforts are undeniably fuelled with passion and commitment to deliver.

With reasonably priced tickets given the carefully selected line up and immense audio visual show, affordable drinks, security and medical team on hand when needed and environmentally friendly reusable cup policy which is now becoming a widely used tactic, since sustainability has become a bigger part to play in the world of events and beyond. If you haven't already read it, check back here for our recent blog on Earth Day back in April which explores more in depth about the impact of climate change and global responsibility towards saving the planet, particularly within the music industry.
