Stripped FM Presents

Updated: Sep 1, 2022

As we transition into autumn and approach our first birthday, the team at Stripped FM have been working hard throughout 2022 to bring you some exciting news...

Our debut live event is happening this October 2nd in the most beautiful intimate location in South London, with some incredibly talented artists and DJ’s.

After launching the station at the cusp of 2021 we have journeyed through some challenges - not all bad but examples include branding concept, difficulties maneuvering the live broadcast set up from the bedroom to the studio, as well as the occasional show not recording! With the help of resident DJ, producer and sound engineer, Ordep - we managed to crack the code.

...Talking of Ordep, he recently interviewed Ukrainian DJ and producer Monotronique who has releases on numerous electronic labels including Hypercolour, Holding Hands and Livity Sound. They discuss his projects, what influences his style and how he would like to see the music industry continue to support his country and his career. This interview goes out on the airwaves tonight (31st August) at 21.00 (BST) following Ordep's weekly Locked Groove show 20.00-21.00.

Back to the station/channel set up... months later, following consistent support from our loyal listeners, we wanted to bring you an event live so you could see some of the talent you have heard down the airwaves and experience - in person.

On Sunday 2nd October we are thoroughly excited to be bringing you live performances from:

EiA - described as "an ethereal powerhouse" and a "songbird of our generation" she studied musical theatre and is classically trained and has been likened to artist, Kate Bush. During her time living and performing in Paris her confidence grew and she starting sharing her music and productions.

In March this year EiA was our first ever guest to appear on our monthly series, Sunday Sessions. The broadcast went down so well, we had a great reception - however - one of the challenging glitches we faced was that this show didn't record. Whilst the show was an incredible catch it was a shame we hadn't managed to document it for listen again. To do the girl real justice you have to come and see her perform in person.

There is some footage below of the live show (before we had our branding concept down to a consistent tee!) evidence is here... but trust us when we say she's not to be missed.

Up next is Peacock Method - A Manchester based band consisting of four friends, who met through playing music in and around their area and who formed in the height of lockdown.

Their sole intention was to inject some colour into the city’s bleak, post-pandemic landscape. That, they sure did manage and have since proven their essence in heights as they have marked their calendar for their October ascension on London city!

Their style is a combination of dusky, disco-fuelled optimism and a dirty, dystopian sense of romanticism.

Their latest single 'Slowly', we made Track of The Week back in July. Watch their video below.

We are thrilled to be bringing Lucas Berry, Adam Kenny, Chris Storer and Richard Newton aka Peacock Method live in session.

Next up:

Manuela Tomé, the young model and singer-songwriter of Angolan heritage, is also set to perform this same autumn date.

Raised in Coventry, UK, Manuela began her musical journey as a coping strategy for moving to a new town (Bournemouth) at the age of 13 when she felt unsettled. She recalls spending hours by the window with a notebook at hand, not knowing that music would become more than just an outlet.

Having an innate desire to explore her creativity further, she moved to London where she studied and excelled in music. Manuela was our most recent guest to join us live in Sunday Sessions, over the bank holiday weekend in August, just gone. If you missed it you can check that out here.

Following the live performances from these amazingly talented artists on 2nd October, we will also be utilising our in-house resident DJ's Ordep, James and Rose who will be spinning some tunes into the late evening ...and no doubt our daytime presenter, Sobia, will be somewhere to be found!

We selected a Sunday afternoon because we wanted to create a daytime event meaning those with work could still get to bed early enough to make it on Monday!

There will be a bar operating at the event and as part of the indoor event space there is also an outside yard and garden area to get some fresh air and chill if you want to.

The show will also feature some mesmerising audio visual displays from the wonderful Celestial Artillery and if you aren't familiar with her or you missed her in the studio during Rose's show last Friday, you can listen back to that here.

There is also a unique code for discounted tickets to this event for our loyal listeners. This gets you 3 tickets for the price of 2 and you just need to enter this at check out. The code is SFMP342.

We hope to see you there!
